Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely
simple, that's creativity.

Who We Are
Founded in 2003, Exact Wordsmith specializes in the development of creative, compelling communications programs and
materials for evolving organizations of
all sizes, particularly startups and nonprofits.

16 years public relations experience providing guidance to organizations

He is able to adapt his writing style to connect

Scott builds communications programs and develops
the right materials to satisfy clients’
long-term business objectives. He's helped small
organizations grow and large corporations maintain market leadership.
Exact Wordsmith also

Prior to starting Exact
Wordsmith, Scott earned leadership positions
with some of the world’s largest, most respected agencies, including Fleishman-Hillard, The Weber Group, and Weber
Shandwick Worldwide (WSW). During his agency
career, Scott implemented award-winning PR programs targeting local, national and international audiences for organizations, including SBC
Communications Inc., XM Satellite Radio, Nike,
Aether Systems,
Blue Ridge Networks, National Council of La Raza, the President's Office of National Drug Control Policy, Business Software
Alliance, National Hospice Organization,
and the American
Gastroenterological Association.
Most
recently, he was Vice President of marketing communications and technology PR with Dittus Communications Inc.
A native Virginian,
Scott earned his degree in communications
studies with a marketing minor from Virginia Tech. In 2003, he was recognized
as the Transitional Housing Volunteer of the Year by New Hope Housing, Northern Virginia's oldest and largest provider of shelter, transitional,
and permanent housing to homeless families and single

“Scott knows
not only what his clients are saying, but also what they mean to say. When we
were just beginning to formulate SoapBox and target investors, Scott was able to help us shape the concept and sales pitch,
putting our ideas into concrete terms that resonated with our prospects. Because he adapts
his writing style to fit virtually any format, subject matter, or level of complexity, Scott's a great PR and marketing
resource for any growing organization, like SoapBox, trying to define itself.”
